NSO Student Leadership

Hello everyone! My name is Chih Kuo (She/Her), and I hail from the faraway land of Hong Kong. I’m currently a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Philosophy and JUPS with a minor in Economics. I’m so excited to be one of your ’26 NSO coordinators and meet all of the wonderful team and new students! On campus, I spend most of my time in the Leavey Center in the Center for Student Engagement (for NSO!) and as an editor at the Voice. I also work at the College of Arts and Sciences Deans’ Office! I hope NSO can help you feel like Georgetown is a place you can call home for the next few years.

Hi! My name is Corey Madison (he/him); I’m a senior from Newark, NJ. I’m an American Studies Major and English Minor in the College of Arts and Sciences. I’m super excited to be working as a 2026 NSO Coordinator and helping new students to transition to life here on the Hilltop! On campus, I’m in Georgetown Mock Trial, GSP Student Board, Georgetown NAACP, Chop it Up, the Baker Scholars Program and the Patrick Healey Fellowship.

Hi everyone! My name is Hunter Barcomb (he/him), and I’m a junior here at Georgetown from Pasco, Washington, studying Government and Philosophy with a minor in Theology and Religious Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences. I’m excited to serve as a New Student Orientation Coordinator and support incoming students as they transition to Georgetown. After being involved in NSO this past year, I’m thrilled to welcome even more new Hoyas to the Hilltop. I can’t wait to meet you all and help you find your place here on campus!

Hey! My name is Peter Sloniewsky (he/him), and I am a senior from Stony Brook, New York. I’m a double major in Government and Philosophy in the College of Arts and Sciences. Around campus, you might find me in The Hoya’s offices, debating with the Philodemic or Philonomosian, or playing rugby. I’ve been involved in NSO since my sophomore year, and couldn’t be more excited to welcome you all to Georgetown this August!

Hey! My name is Zoe Schaeffer, and I am a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Biology. On campus, I’m involved with the Georgetown Program Board (GPB), Club Equestrian, research in the Biology Department, and (of course) NSO! As a first year, NSO gave me the opportunity to meet so many amazing new people, including some of my best friends to this day. My Orientation Advisor was a fantastic resource for me, and because of her advice during the NSO panel discussions, I felt like I really knew my way around campus resources. Since then, I have loved being able to help new students find their way at Georgetown as an OA. If I could give one piece of advice to all new students, it would be to take full advantage of the resources your OA and NSO have to offer! Attend all of the panels and discussions, ask questions, and try to meet new people. You never know when you might hear about a club that interests you or make a new friend! Good luck and Hoya Saxa!

I’m Ryan Goodwin! I’m a rising senior in the college, and I’ve been involved with NSO since my sophomore year. As a first year, I really appreciated the opportunity to meet new people, learn more about Georgetown, and get into the groove of campus life. I really love the community that NSO creates!

Hey y’all! I’m Saeed Jude (he/they), a senior in the College majoring in Neurobiology on the Pre-med track with a minor in Disability Studies. Finding your place at Georgetown, like anywhere else, can be difficult. I’ve made some of my best friends here and found really meaningful social and religious communities, but those connections take time. NSO is a great way to kick-start that process by meeting amazing people, learning everything you need to know, and settling into life on the Hilltop. I joined the Orientation team because I wanted to pay forward the care and support my OA showed me when I was a first-year, and I still remember when my NSO group toured the Kennedy Center. So take advantage of this opportunity, put yourself out there, and make some fun memories! You only get one NSO <3 HOYA SAXA!!

Hey y’all! My name is Emily Li and I’m a junior from Orlando, Florida studying International Politics in the SFS with a minor in Theology.  On campus, I’m involved in the SFS Academic Council, GU Wargaming Society, and Catholic Ministry. I’m super excited to be a captain this year and I look forward to working with you all this fall!

Hey! My name is Kira and I’m from Hamilton, NJ. I am a rising senior in the School of Foreign Service majoring in International Political Economy with minors in Spanish and Global Development. On campus, I’m most involved with the Georgetown Program Board, Delta Phi Epsilon (our professional foreign service sorority), the Georgetown University Grilling Society, and teaching swim lessons. In my free time I love exploring DC, attending its many free festivals, trying new restaurants, and line dancing downtown! NSO has been such an important part of my Georgetown experience and I love the opportunity to welcome new Hoyas to the Hilltop. The most memorable experience for me has been meeting the new students each year and learning from their diverse backgrounds. I can’t wait for another great year. Hoya Saxa!!

Hello! My name is Heather Begg. I’m a rising Junior in the SFS studying International Political Economy with minors in Environment and Sustainability Science and Arabic who calls Norwood, MA home. On campus, I’m involved in the GU Pep Band, Catholic Ministry, and the Georgetown Renewable Energy and Environmental Network (GREEN). I loved NSO for the opportunity to meet new people and learn all about how to make the most of my time at Georgetown! My favorite part of NSO was attending the optional evening programming, which let me make friends while enjoying free food on Leavey Esplanade or playing trivia in the HFSC Great Room. My best advice for NSO is to not be afraid to try something new! 

Hi! My name is Luke and I’m from Washington, DC! I’m a junior in the SFS studying International History with a minor in Russian and certificate in Diplomatic Studies. Outside of classes, I am involved with the Georgetown University Museum Society and the Georgetown Fencing Club. I also love going for hikes on the trails around campus and playing volleyball with friends on the Southwest quad! NSO is a unique opportunity to be thrown together and mixed up with other new students, and when I was an incoming freshman, it was a time where I sampled new things and new friends as I tried to find my place at Georgetown. I encourage all new students to put yourselves out there and meet as many people as you can! Say yes to second dinners and random monumenting trips, join a club you’ve never done before, and get to know Georgetown and all the amazing opportunities here. Looking forward to seeing everyone in the fall and Hoya Saxa!
