HFO Virtual Help Desk
During HFO, a virtual help desk will be available to parents and families. The Orientation staff will be available to assist with questions or concerns, and can help direct you to session. The Help Desk link will be made available on August 19, and it will be open from 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm Eastern Time.

Understanding the Ombuds Office: Where To Go When You Don’t Know Where To Go | The Ombuds is an important resource for students to be aware of when they are dealing with any type of conflict, are having trouble navigating resources at GU, or need to speak to a trusted professional confidentially about an academic issue they are facing. This us an informational session designed to explain what an Ombuds does and doesn’t do, what to expect from a visit, how Ombuds practice and reasons why someone might visit the OSO. | Click here to watch the recording. |
Mental Health & Wellbeing: An Integral Part of the College Experience | This session will be an opportunity for families to learn about the importance of their student integrating mental health and wellbeing practices into their life as a college student. | Recording coming soon. |
Coffee with the ARC Director | Meet casually with Dr. Joseph P. Fisher, Executive Director of the Academic Resource Center. Joe will offer an overview of the ARC’s resources and can answer general questions about how the office works with students. OSEI Parent & Family Information Session | The Office of Student Equity & Inclusion session aims to familiarize parents and family members with our diverse support services, including the Disability Cultural Center, Women’s Center, LGBTQ Resource Center, Community Scholars Program, and Center for Multicultural Equity and Access.
