August 20-25, 2017
The Preparing to Excel Program, or PEP, is a pre-orientation program on campus for 40 incoming freshmen and transfers who want a head start on adjusting to the campus environment at Georgetown University. PEP seeks to integrate new students into the entire university community, both academically and socially, in order to provide them with a foundation for success in their time on the Hilltop. Furthermore, PEP allows new students to form strong bonds with their fellow PEPers that will last throughout their four years at Georgetown. Between making friends, establishing important contacts, and becoming more comfortable with Georgetown University, PEP gives new Hoyas the tools and resources to excel. PEP gives new students what they need to not just survive, but thrive!
PEP participants have the opportunity to explore the District, learn about resources available at Georgetown, discuss relevant topics with fellow new students, meet campus leaders and administrators, and become acquainted with the Georgetown and DC communities. The goal of the week is to explore and discover all that Georgetown and D.C. have to offer, and to equip students with the knowledge to utilize these available resources and opportunities.
There is no fee for PEP; meals and housing will be provided.
The application will open in May.
